I make and use my own designed bag and purse patterns ... I sketch the initial idea, refine the drawing, play around with dimensions, drafting the pattern, cut the pattern template, make a sample piece, wear the sample piece to see if it functions well and them once I’m happy with it I make it part of the HOLM family. I don’t buy in patterns therefore ensure all HOLM bags are unique yet sadly often copied by other makers.

I take a huge amount of care in producing pieces of utmost quality, meticulous craftsmanship and functionality - all the items in my shop are designed, made, photographed, road tested and fretted over by myself, just me in my home studio with my handsome Australian Kelpie dog and the radio for company.
I'm obsessive about attention to detail from using the best materials and hardware, to sourcing and ensuring the best environmentally conscious credentials of everything that goes into making a HOLM bag. All parts of the handmade production process are very thoughtfully considered and I hope this shows in the work I create.
